Breast Cancer Affects Everyone

Breast cancer awareness is an effort to raise awareness and decrease the stigma of breast cancer through education on symptoms and treatment. It ties together fear of cancer, hope for early identification and faith on successful treatment. The message of hope which women with breast cancer and anyone been through breast cancer portrays, compliments the reflection of past patients and their survival stories. This awareness encourages persons to lean to one another, through support and individual activities and campaigns. Some wear a pink ribbon for public support. Also there are collective political actions aimed at discovering causes of breast cancer, preventative guidelines and early detection methods.

The Falls at Westmall understands breast cancer affects everyone. Let's lend a heart to all the friends and family that are down during this time.

A loved one’s illness can be stressful for you, too. To keep your fears from taking over:

 

• Try to keep a positive attitude.
• Accept that there are events you cannot control.
• Find some activities that help you relax. Take a walk, listen to music, or practice meditation or yoga.
• Exercise regularly. It’s a great way to fight tension, and it can help your body be better prepared to deal with stress.
• Rest and sleep. Your body needs time to recover from stressful events.
• Think about joining a support group for family and friends of people with breast cancer. It might help to talk about what you’re going through with other people who understand what it’s like
